North Country Breweries Ltd, Anchor Brewery, Silvester Street, Hull, East Yorkshire.

Founded 1765 as John Ward's Brewery, Dagger Lane. Moved to Anchor Brewery 1868. Registered January 1888 as the Hull Brewery Co Ltd to acquire Gleadow, Dibb & Co.

Acquired by Northern Dairies Ltd. 1971 with 212 tied houses and name changed as above in 1974. Bought by the Mansfield Brewery Co. Ltd in May 1985 and brewing ceased by October 1985. For the 1989 brewery which adoped the Hull Brewery name, see Hull Brewery Co.
