In 2018, Fourpure were acquired by the Castlemaine XXXX brewer, Lion; themselves a subsidiary of Kirin Holdings (Japan).

In September 2024, it was announced that brewing of Fourpure beers would be transferred to sister brewery Magic Rock (Huddersfield), and that brewing would cease at the Bermondsey site.
