In 1798, Mr Street started a small brewery in Sheep Street in what had probably been the brewhouse of the Lamb Inn next door. George Garne took over the brewery in 1880, and it remained in the Garne family's ownership until closure. Registered May 1930.


Brewing ceased and used as a depot until c.1991.

Garne & Sons Ltd, Sheep Street, Burford, Oxfordshire.

In 1798, Mr Street started a small brewery in Sheep Street in what had probably been the brewhouse of the Lamb Inn next door. George Garne took over the brewery in 1880, and it remained in the Garne family's ownership until closure. Registered May 1930.

Acquired by Wadworth & Co. Ltd in April 1969 with 9 tied houses. Brewing ceased and used as a depot until about 1991. Brewhouse still intact.
