Tynemill pub company was formed in 1977, and had built up an estate of 12 pubs when the brewery itself was established as a partnership between Bramcote Brewery & Tynemill in 1997. Bramcote then stopped brewing.
The brewery opened in former industrial buildings behind the Vat & Fiddle pub in Nottingham, which is now the Castle Rock Brewery Tap.
