Founded by Alfred Hyde about 1863 at the Crown Brewery, Audenshaw. They moved to the Victoria Brewery, Lower Moss Lane 1870 followed by the Mayfield Street Brewery, Ardwick in 1882 and the Monmouth Street Brewery, Rusholme 1887 before moving to the present brewery in July 1899 formerly occupied by [[Greatorex Brothers]].

Hyde's Anvil Brewery Ltd, 46 Moss Lane West, Manchester, Moss Side, Greater Manchester.

Founded by Alfred Hyde about 1863 at the Crown Brewery, Audenshaw. They moved to the Victoria Brewery, Lower Moss Lane 1870 followed by the Mayfield Street Brewery, Ardwick in 1882 and the Monmouth Street Brewery, Rusholme 1887 before moving to the present brewery in July 1899 formerly occupied by Greatorex Brothers.
