Weall Brothers, 50 Ashbourne Road, (previously 20-22), Derbyshire

Also known as the Ashbourne Road 'Old' Brewery.

In 1818 the business was run by Gisbourne & Watson, who were succeeded by John Porter (1823-1850). He then moved to his 'new' brewery further up Ashbourne Road.

The 'Old' Brewery was taken over by the Eyre family, Thomas (1850-1857) - who had earlier run the Liversage brewery - was followed by Sarah (1857-1863) and then by Washington Pike until 1881. From 1884, it was the brewery of Benjamin and Frank Weall.

Acquired by Alton & Co. Ltd with 7 public houses in 1895 and the partnership of B & AF Weall was dissolved 3rd December 1897.
