Phillips & Marriott Ltd Coventry Atherstone, 127 Long Street White Horse Two sets of etched windows - 'PHILLIPS & MARRIOTT'S COVENTRY ALES & STOUTS' in the centre panels, with the 'star' trade mark including the lettering 'GENUINE' in a star shape in the two outer panels. By 2007, one of the Phillips & Marriott windows had been replaced by a modern window after damage. (Also two M&B 'deer leaping' lanterns and an opening hours box.) Bass, Ratcliffe & Gretton Ltd Burton-upon-Trent Leamington Spa, 113 Radford Road Red House (closed) A long-established Bass house. On each end wall, a large framed sign, illuminated from above. 'Bass (in script) ... ON DRAUGHT.' and a large red triangle. These characterful signs were replaced by 2012 by a small painted triangle image on each wall. Mitchells & Butlers Ltd, Cape Hill, Smethwick; and Springfield, Wolverhampton Nuneaton - Stockingford, Church Road Lamb & Flag A former James Eadie house. In 2007 it had modern M&B livery. Applied fascia lettering; 'deer leaping' lantern; opening hours box; lettering on the hanging sign. Inside, the modern mirror glass in the bar-back has 'M&B' lettering. Most items removed by 2019. Courage Ltd - London, Bristol, etc Nuneaton - Whitestone, Meadowside Hayrick (renamed White Stone) A late example of a Courage-built estate pub, well-outside its historical trading region. The pole sign isn't the original one, but in 2007 had 'COURAGE' lettering and a gold cockerel above. The sign was replaced in 2012 and the Courage features removed. As originally built, the pole sign featured a large representation of a hayrick with a Courage cockerel on top, and a sign on the front of the pub read: 'TAKE COURAGE'. Mann's (Watney-Mann subsidiary based in Norwich) Norwich Rugby, 1 North Street Windmill (Rugby Tavern) Was named 'Rugby Tavern' for a few years, but has reverted to its original name under the new ownership of Black Country Ales.
