Editorial

First, an apology. I am sorry for the late arrival of this edition of the journal. As many of you know Ken Smith handed over the editorial reins a few months ago. Since then I have been coming to terms with the vagaries of desktop publishing – an uphill struggle! However, things are gradually falling into place and the next edition should be less of a challenge to produce. I would like to thank Ken for his recent help and especially for his hard work over the years as editor. I am sure you will agree that the journal has gone from strength to strength under his tenure and if I can sustain his high standards I will be happy.

The content of the journal rests, of course, with you the readers and contributors. Without your suggestions and submissions it could not continue. Therefore, I would encourage you to keep sending in material and ideas for future articles. I am positive that the range of the journal can be expanded without losing its identity. I am keen to see pieces on, for example, the relationship between science and brewing, architecture, brewing and politics and a host of other topics related to the industry. I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you continue to find the journal both entertaining and informative.
