William Butler & Co Ltd Wolverhampton Bloxwich, 104 Bell Lane Sir Robert Peel A pair of 'no right of way' signs fixed to the front wall. The earliest is from W.BUTLER & Co, SPRINGFIELD BREWERY WOLVERHAMPTON, who built the pub. Above this is a much later one by subsequent owner BASS PLC. SP photo 2007 Picture

Mitchells & Butlers Ltd, Cape Hill, Smethwick; and Springfield, Wolverhampton Bloxwich, 125 Elmore Green Road Thatched House Tavern (former) Various M&B signs including: (1) on an end wall, an oval plaque in red with M&B lettering in house style in gold; (2) on the opposite end wall, an applied 'deer leaping' logo; (3) three M&B lanterns; (4) an M&B 'opening hours' box. William Roberts Brewery Ltd Brownhills Brownhills, 15 Church Road Shoulder of Mutton Two bay windows with etched centre panes: 'ROBERT'S NOTED ALES' around a steam railway engine illustration and 'TRADE MARK'. Both the front windows have been replaced with plain ones after several breakages. However, a small back window survives with a roundel: 'WILLIAM ROBERTS Ltd ... BREWERY' around 'BAR'. William Roberts Brewery Ltd Brownhills Brownhills, 93 Pelsall Road Swan This pub had front windows with William Roberts' railway engine trade mark. However, these windows have been replaced with plain modern ones. The glass from one survives, and the landlord intends to create a mirror from this to display in the bar. SP 2014 .

Mitchells & Butlers Ltd Smethwick Darlaston, 248 Walsall Road Fallings Heath Tavern (former) An corroded iron 'no right of way' sign on the front wall with 'MITCHELLS & BUTLERS LTD'. The pub became a restaurant, then flats. SP 2006 .

Highgate Brewery Co Ltd (pre-M&B) Walsall Walsall, 338 Wednesbury Road Brown Lion (former) This is a rare - probably unique - example of livery by the pre-M&B Highgate Brewery Company. Fine exterior: faience ground floor with green and dark blue glazed tiles; cream fascia with red art deco lettering: 'HBCo. - BROWN LION. - (a lion rampant illustration) - BROWN LION. - ALES & STOUT'. Note there is also a tile in the arch recording the manufacturers - Burmantofts. The pub appears to be converted to residential use. TS 2003; SP photo 2006 Picture

Large fading painted sign on the frontage - black lettering on white - 'HARPER'S BILSTON NOTED ALES & STOUT.' Recent images reveal older lettering underneath: 'SOUTH STAFFORDSHIRE ... Atkinson's Brewery Ltd Birmingham Walsall, 47 West Bromwich Street Crown & Anchor (former) On the frontage, two iron lamp brackets with the brewery's 'AAA' circular motif. Over the front door was a leaded window with a similar motif, plus 'crown' and 'anchor' illustrations. The pub was converted to a pharmacy in about 2020, at which time the leaded window was removed. Ansells Brewery Ltd Birmingham Walsall, 504 Pleck Road Bradford Arms On the left side of the front elevation, a metal oval plaque, orange lettering 'Ansells ALES' on green, with a squirrel illustration. Homebrew Walsall, 9 Upper Green Lane White Horse Double bay-windowed frontage with old etched windows in 2007: 'WHITE HORSE ... HOME BREWED ALES'. 'Century' records this as a homebrew house in 1921. The pub was demolished 2018-2019. SP 2007; Google 2018-2019 .

Walsall Breweries Proprietary Ltd (1924-1939) Walsall Walsall, Birchills Street Golden Lion (former) An interwar pub which was converted to a night club named 'Lion'. A cast iron "No right of way" sign survives with lettering: 'WALSALL BREWERIES PROPRIETARY LIMITED'. The company was a merger of John Lord, Malt Shovel and Highgate breweries. BHK photo 2009 Picture
