Merseyside - Liverpool, Stanhope Street: Cain's Brewery

Brewery: Higson's Brewery Ltd - Mersey Brewery, Stanhope Street, Liverpool (now Cain's)

A brewery with a complicated history. Essentially founded by the original Robert Cain company, the buildings were sold to Higsons in 1923 when Cain merged with Walkers of Warrington. The Higson lettering was applied to pre-existing buildings. The new company which occupied the brewery after the closure of Higsons adopted the Robert Cain name.
