Home Brewery Co Ltd Arnold Arnold (Daybrook), Mansfield Road Home Brewery (former) Most of the brewery has been redeveloped, but the 1930s-1940s office block is retained. On the front gates - 'HOME BREWERY CO' lettering with wreath designs in gold. On each side of the tower a large sign 'HOME OF THE BEST'. When the brewery was operating these signs read 'HOME - OF THE BEST - ALES' - all the lettering was neon-illuminated, and each line lit up in sequence. The whole building, and the signs, are listed. The new road serving the redevelopment is named SIR JOHN ROBINSON WAY, after the brewery founder. TN 2004; SP 2005; RTe photo 2008 Picture

Hardy's Kimberley Brewery Ltd and Hansons Ltd (Hardys & Hansons from 1972) Kimberley Hucknall, 397 Watnall Road Flying Bedstead (demolished) The pub was built by Hardy & Hanson in 1967, and featured two plaques mounted on a tiled wall to the left of the entrance. (1) Original to the pub, a rare plaque of four tiles with 'HARDY'S ... KIMBERLEY ALE ... HANSONS', a monogram 'TKH' and a golden guinea illustration. (2) A modern plaque, typical of many installed by H&H on their pubs in the 2000s, with 'HARDYS & HANSONS ... FINEST ALES ... MASTER BREWERS SINCE 1832'. This pub was rebuilt by Mansfield Brewery in the early 20c, and retains some original leaded windows. One leaded window on the front elevation with a painted scroll: 'MANSFIELD BREWERY Co' either side of a shield with a cross and knots. Over the door, two leaded panels with roundels: 'THE MANSFIELD BREWERY CO' lettering around; one incorporates a stylised oak tree, the other a cross with knots and stags' heads. The office block to the left has: (1) a stone tablet with 'M B Co' and '1854'; (2) two rainwater heads with 'M B Co'. There are many other more modern signs around the site, much of which is proposed for redevelopment. Part of the brewery is used as an exhibition of industrial Mansfield, but this is not often open. James Shipstone & Sons Ltd Nottingham Nottingham - Aspley, Nuthall Road John Barleycorn (demolished) A 1930s pub with a small original timber projecting sign on the front elevation. Although the original carved timber lettering has been replaced, the sign incorporates a small star emblem. The front elevation has a decorated timber bargeboard incorporating no less than four large stars and 20 small stars. (The star was the Shipstone trademark).
