Peter Walker & Sons Ltd Warrington Anfield, 49 Oakfield Road Oakfield (former) On the curved frontage between first and second floor windows, a large letter sign 'WALKER'S ALES'. At first floor level, a Walker 'queen on horseback' trade mark with 'WALKER' beneath. Over the doors, three lantern signs featuring the trade mark and 'ESTd 1852'. Threlfall's Brewery Co Ltd - Liverpool & Salford Edge Hill, 16 Smithdown Road (corner of Yanwath Street) Campfield Hotel (former) Corner pub with an orange-tiled frontage, typical of Threlfall's interwar style. Until 2012, there were remains of chipped-off Threlfall's lettering on the fascia facing Smithdown Road. By 2014, all the tiles had been painted black, and the brewery lettering was not visible. Converted to student accommodation. SP 2008; Google 2012 and 2014 .

Over the door is a licensing sign with 'PROPRIETORS ... HIGSONS BREWERY LIMITED, LIVERPOOL'. In the stonework of one of the high gables on the Hope Street elevation is the brewer's 'R C & S' monogram. Within the ironwork above the Hope Street entrance, is a coat of arms including the Cain's 'goats' and 'PACEM AMO' motto. Grade 2-star listed, and on CAMRA's National Inventory. Robert Cain & Sons Ltd Liverpool Liverpool Centre, 67 Moorfields Lion Tavern Amid the references to Peter Walker's brewery (qv), some of the windows incorporate Robert Cain's 'goat' trademark. CAMRA's Historic Pubs guide records that, internally, "above and behind the main bar is an ornately carved 'C' confirming the association with the original Cain's brewery that became visible only when several layers of varnish were removed from the original wooden panelling". (1) On the parapet of the Stanhope Street elevation - 'DANIEL HIGSON BREWER ESTABLD. 1850'. (2) At first floor level on the 1902 extension - 'DANIEL HIGSON LTD. HIGSON'S BREWERY'. (3) Above the main gate is 'HIGSONS BREWERY' and a goat. An image of a goat also appears above the Grapes pub on the corner of the brewery (see Cain's entry on this site). Higsons occupied this brewery from Robert Cain in 1923, so the Higson lettering was added after this date. The 1850 date refers to Cain's foundation of the brewery on this site.
