Chesters Brewery Co Ltd Manchester Ancoats, 17 Blossom Street Edinburgh Castle For many years this pub was closed and abandoned. From 2014, an old painted sign was visible on the corner splay: 'THE EDINBURGH CASTLE ... Chesters ALES AND STOUT ... WINES & SPIRITS'. By 2020, the pub had reopened, but the Chesters sign had been painted over. Google 2014-2019 Picture

Wilson's Brewery Ltd Manchester Ardwick, 116 Hyde Road Star (former) Detached 1930s pub - attractive exterior. Stone panel - Wilson chequerboard trademark and 'THE SIGN OF QUALITY'. Wilson's Brewery Ltd Manchester Ardwick, Apsley Grove Apsley Cottage Behind Ardwick Apollo Theatre. Two small lantern signs with 'WILSONS' and the chequerboard motif. Whitbread - the national brewery conglemerate Beswick, 461 Mill Street Bradford Hotel The inn sign features a modern Whitbread logo within the ironwork, including 'WHITBREAD PLC ... 1742'. TB 2006 .

Groves & Whitnall Ltd Salford Chorlton-cum-Hardy, 135 Beech Road Trevor Arms Pub with a fine frontage, including a carved stone panel above the door with monogram 'G & W Ltd' and the date 1908. Below the gable at high level, a decorative tiled fascia with lettering: 'GROVES & WHITNALL'S ALES'. Until 2017, this was obscured by an ugly modern box sign, but with a change of ownership, the original sign was revealed by 2018. SP photo 2012; Google photo 2018 Picture

Hardy's Crown Brewery Ltd Manchester Chorlton-on-Medlock, 12 Higher Chatham Street Salutation On two elevations, the parapet has applied lettering 'HARDY'S CROWN ALES', but this is modern plastic lettering. TB reports that the pub was refurbished by Punch Taverns in 2004, when previously applied Tetley livery was removed, and the Hardy lettering "restored". SP photo 2005; TB 2007 Picture

Wilson's Brewery Ltd Manchester Chorlton-on-Medlock, 44 Cavendish Street Cavendish (former) Lettering in relief between the first and second floor windows: 'WILSON'S ALES AND STOUT'. Between two first-floor windows, a panel in relief with the Wilson's 'chequerboard' motif and lettering 'THE SIGN OF QUALITY'. Chesters Brewery Co Ltd Manchester Clayton, 273 Clayton Lane Bridge Inn The pub has panels with lettering 'CHESTERS ALES AND STOUT' on the front elevation and on the south gable end. The panel on the front has had its raised lettering chipped off, but the sign has been repainted. The panel on the end elevation retains its relief lettering. Phoenix Brewery Co Ltd Heywood Crumpsall, 2 Middleton Road (corner of Bury Old Road) Half Way House A large stone phoenix in relief on the tiled fascia. The pub dates from the late 1930s, and must have been one of the last pubs built by Phoenix Brewery before it was taken over by the Cornbrook Brewery Co in 1939. Wilson's Brewery Ltd Manchester Manchester - Centre, 125 Liverpool Road Commercial Hotel The side elevation features an old etched window with 'WILSONS', and above the door facing Liverpool Road, the tympanum window also has 'WILSONS' etched lettering. Kays Atlas Brewery Ltd Manchester Openshaw, 1272 Ashton Old Road (corner of Erin Street) Forresters Arms (former) Tiled fascia: (1) on the front - 'ATLAS. ALES. The parapets on three elevations featured mosaic tiling with gold lettering on blue - 'HARDY'S'. The front and side elevations had part of the mosaics painted white.
