An oval hanging sign with the red triangle and 'BASS ON DRAUGHT ... SALOON BAR'. Inside is a unique 'Bass, Wenlock & Charrington' mirror. Also Wenlock signs and memorabilia. Wenlock Brewery Co Ltd Hoxton, N1 Fitzrovia, 134 New Cavendish Street Ship Small Wenlock Brewery Co sign on the outside wall (2003). Inside is a treasure trove of Wenlock and Bass artefacts, including Wenlock mirrors, metal 'Wenlock Ales & Stout' plaque, a 'Wenlock's No. 1 House' sign and a unique 'Bass, Wenlock & Charrington' mirror. In 2007, there were at least three plaques outside with 'WENLOCK BREWERY Co's FINE ALES', some with what appear to be modern fittings. Wm Younger & Co Ltd Edinburgh Marylebone, 44 Blandford Street Tudor Rose Formerly Lincoln Hotel. The pub was rebuilt by Youngers to designs by J Quilter in 1936 in Tudor style. The leaded windows include lettering: 'WM YOUNGER & CO LTD ... EDINBURGH ... SCOTCH ALE ... MILD & PALE ALES'; also small painted panels showing Aberdeen and Edinburgh Castle. Wm Younger & Co Ltd Edinburgh Mayfair, 5 Bruton Street Coach & Horses A rebuild of an old pub in 1933 by William Younger, to the design of John T Quilter. The magnificent leaded windows feature several examples of 'Wm YOUNGER & Co Ltd' and 'SCOTCH ALES'. The painted fascia facing Bruton Street had 'Wm YOUNGERS FINE ALES', but this has been painted over. Below the windows are brass rails with the pub name in script. Charrington & Co Ltd Mile End, E1 Mayfair, 5 Pollen Street Black Lion & French Horn (closed) Two ceramic plaques in colour featuring the 'Toby' character and 'TOBY ALES' - positioned on left and right sides of the front elevation: contemporary images from the Charrington archive show that these dated from the building of the pub by Charringtons in 1937. There was also a "Respect our neighbours" notice with 'BaSS' and the triangle trademark. Closed in 2009 and converted to a restaurant. All brewery signs removed. Taylor Walker & Co Ltd Limehouse, E14 Soho, 1 D'Arblay Street George Three windows with 'TAYLOR WALKER' in gold lettering in a central panel. Others have the pub name in similar lettering. This was originally a Meux pub; the Taylor Walker re-branding took place in the 1980s: these glass panels replaced the original Meux panels. Firkin brewpubs - various locations Paddington, 15 Chilworth Street Fettler (formerly Fettler & Firkin, originally Queens Railway Tavern) (closed) 'FETTLER & FIRKIN' painted wall lettering in typical style for this chain of brewpubs; 'FIRKIN' lettering to the hanging sign. Closed in about 2011 and converted to a house. All signs removed. WRB 2007; TrC 2014 .

Truman Hanbury Buxton & Co Ltd - London & Burton-upon-Trent Paddington, 28 Praed Street Grand Junction Arms (former) The pub is now used as a restaurant. Fine early 20c faience and timbered exterior. There are two large tiled panels on both front and rear elevations: 'TRUMANS LONDON STOUT' and 'TRUMANS BURTON ALES'. At the front of the pub, there is a glazed panel featuring the brewery's 'Eagle on Rock' trademark in colour, and gold lettering: 'TRUMAN'S'. At the corner of the building, at first floor level, is a further large tiled sign with decorative gold lettering: 'TRUMAN HANBURY BUXTON & Co Ltd ... LONDON & BURTON'. When the pub was renamed and reopened at the end of 2013, the boards were removed to reveal Truman tiled panels: (1) Under the second floor windows on the front elevation: 'TRUMAN HANBURY BUXTON'; (2) At high level on both end gables: 'TRUMAN HANBURY BUXTON & Co Ltd'. Young & Co's Brewery Ltd Wandsworth, SW18 Chiswick, 374 High Road Crown & Anchor A fine faience frontage added by Youngs in about 1936. There are many tiled panels at ground floor level with 'YOUNG & CO'S ALES & STOUT' with a coloured image of a ram above and the name of the pub room below, for instance 'LUNCHEON ROOM', 'LOUNGE', 'SALOON BAR', PUBLIC BAR'. The tiled fascia has the pub name and 'YOUNG & CO'. On the splayed corner at high level is a large tiled panel with 'YOUNG & CO' and a large coloured image of a ram. Truman Hanbury Buxton & Co Ltd - London & Burton-upon-Trent Hammersmith, 20 Macbeth Street Hope & Anchor (former) A brick corner pub by A E Sewell for Trumans, built about 1936 as part of the Riverside Gardens estate. A Truman eagle in a roundel on the corner splay, between the first and second floors. The unaltered interior (on CAMRA's National Inventory) has gold lettering on the bar-backs and above the panelling in the rear saloon, including: 'TRUMAN'S TRUBROWN', 'TRUMAN'S PALE ALE', 'TRUMAN'S EAGLE ALE', 'LONDON STOUT', 'LONDON - TRUMANS - BURTON' and 'IF IT'S TRUMAN'S ... IT IS BEER' (cf. the Cubitt Arms, E14 and Golden Heart, E1). The saloon also has a fixed Truman mirror above the fireplace. Planning permission was granted in 2016 to convert to residential use with the proviso that the ground floor remains intact. A listed building. SP 2007; CAMRA 2016; TrC 2021 .

Stansfeld & Co Ltd Fulham, SW6 Hammersmith, 46 Hammersmith Broadway Swan Hotel Above the ground floor windows, five metal roundels with the motif 'S & Co'; that on the Beadon Road (rear) elevation is more elaborate than the others and appears to read 'J S & Co'. The keystone above the windows features a swan. In the stonework above two first floor windows are roundels with 'S' - one in a shield. In the plasterwork above the corner door is a roundel with 'S & Co'. In the leaded glass top panels of the windows, there are five shields with 'S & Co'. A fine Victorian building, built 1901. Royal Brewery (Brentford) Ltd Brentford Hanwell, 127 Oaklands Road Grosvenor Arms 'RBC' monograms in arched panels above the fascia - there are three examples on the Oaklands Road elevation, and one facing Grosvenor Road. A Truman's board, painted over with lettering barely visible, to the first floor's south wall. 2017: The Truman's sign has been removed as a result of conversion to mixed usage. TrC 2015; TrC 2017 .

Taylor Walker & Co Ltd Limehouse, E14 Kensal Town, 525 Harrow Road Flora (formerly Flora Hotel) The hanging sign bracket has a 'TAYLOR WALKER' name panel and is topped with a 'cannon' device. Two 'TAYLOR WALKER' lanterns flank the pub name at fascia height both with 'cannon' motifs. Three 'TAYLOR WALKER' wall plaques to the entrance pillars with 'cannon' motifs. TrC 2014 .

Taylor Walker & Co Ltd Limehouse, E14 Ladbroke Grove, 139 Ladbroke Grove Kensington Park Taylor Walker signage includes several wall plaques, three lanterns (two styles) featuring the 'cannon', and a 'cannon' painted on the fading board sign on the corner splay. A door window has a Double Diamond 'DD' logo. Inside, repeated around the central bar's parapet in white illuminated lettering: 'SKOL ... DOUBLE DIAMOND'. TrC reports in 2019 that all external Taylor Walker signage and the Double Diamond window have gone. Truman Hanbury Buxton & Co Ltd - London & Burton-upon-Trent Ladbroke Grove, 250 Ladbroke Grove Eagle It had a large painted board sign to the curved corner splay at first and second floor levels with 'eagle' motif and 'TRUMAN HANBURY AND BUXTON ...
