A projecting 'WATNEY COMBE REID - 1898' roundel with 'stag' motif tops a sign bracket to the left of the first floor windows. TrC reports that the Watney's roundel has been removed following conversion. Here in 2016 but gone by 2019. TrC 2014 and 2020 .

In the lower pane of the left-hand window was a Bass blue triangle with 'TRADE MARK' lettering. Google indicates that the blue triangle was removed between 2009 and 2012. It features a horse shoe with 'MEUX'S' in the middle and 'TRADE MARK' beneath. The pub closed in around 2002 and the ground floor has been converted to a pizza restaurant. The fascia has green lettering on cream tiles: (1) On Coronet Street - 'TRUMAN'S ALES'; (2) On Pitfield Street - 'TRUMAN'S ALES & STOUT'. Above the second-floor windows, the cornice on the Pitfield Street elevation has 'TRUMAN HANBURY BUXTON & CO LTD' - white raised lettering on brick coloured tiles. Truman Hanbury Buxton & Co Ltd - London & Burton-upon-Trent Hoxton, 55 Orsman Road Stags Head An elegant Truman's corner pub by A E Sewell, 1934-1936. Fascia with 'LONDON ... TRUMANS ... BURTON' and 'BURTON BITTER ... TRUMANS ... LONDON STOUT'. On the corner splay, a tiled panel with the pub name and a stag's head, and above this a Truman eagle in a roundel. The interior features panelling with lettering in gold advertising Truman's range of beers; plus TRUMAN'S lettering in two fixed mirrors over fireplaces. Also a three-sided illuminated bar-back parapet with 'BEN TRUMAN ... BURTON - TRUMANS - LONDON ... BURTON BREWED BITTER'. The background to the exterior signs was painted dark red in 2013. Charrington & Co Ltd Mile End, E1 Islington, 148 Caledonian Road Thornhill Arms A three-storey corner building with a fine exterior. The ground floor frontage has marvellous dark brown faience tiles, and a curved cream fascia with dark-brown lettering: 'ALES - CHARRINGTONS - & STOUT - THORNHILL ARMS ALES - CHARRINGTONS - & STOUT'. Above the second-floor windows is a similar fascia on both frontages with the pub name, and four 'anchor' illustrations. Taylor Walker & Co Ltd Limehouse, E14 Islington, 1A Sudeley Street Prince of Wales Building activities and the removal of modern fascia boards in 2016 revealed applied lettering to the stonework above the windows and corner entrance: 'TAYLOR WALKER AND CO LTD ... PRINCE OF WALES ... TAYLOR WALKER PRIZE BEERS'. However, a further refurbishment in about 2017 involved a new name and the covering up of the whole ground floor in modern tiles. The Taylor Walker lettering may survive beneath. TrC 2016 and 2018; Google 2017 .

At high level on two gables, panels with the Charrington 'Flying Tankard' in relief. At ground floor level, two tiled panels incorporating: 'Flying Tankard' emblem; '1757'; 'CHARRINGTON'; Toby jug emblem with 'TOBY ALE'; 'THE HOUSE OF TOBY'. Converted to residential use 'Charrington Court' by 2014, but the Charrington features survive.
