Bass Worthington Burton-upon-Trent Ashby de la Zouch, 2 Market Street Shoulder of Mutton An illuminated lantern sign over the front door. The faces have 'Worthington' lettering, beneath which is a shield enclosing a dagger. On the wall above, red plastic 'Bass Worthington' lettering. Ansells Brewery Ltd Birmingham Blaby, Lutterworth Road Bulls Head The ironwork above the hanging sign incorporates the Ansell squirrel and the date 1857. There is also an Ansell's lantern above the door. These date from the Allied era, as the pub was formerly owned by Ind Coope. SP 2008 .

Bass Worthington Burton-upon-Trent Kegworth, 3 Churchgate Olde Flying Horse (former) On the wall of the building overlooking the car park - a fine large prominent raised letter sign -'Worthington's Ales.', very similar in style to that at the Blue Posts, Burton upon Trent (qv). Until about 2011, the lettering was painted red, but in recent years, the whole wall has been painted white. On the central timbered gable of this interwar pub was a large applied 'Bass' sign in script, but this was removed in about 2018 when the premises were converted to a butchers-bakery and cafe. Bass, Ratcliffe & Gretton Ltd Burton-upon-Trent Kegworth, Borough Street Cap & Stocking A slate plaque to the left of the front door: 'Traditional CASK ALES' ... (red triangle) ... 'Bass' in script. Also a lantern over the door featuring the red triangle and 'Bass' in script; and a Bass board sign on the north gable wall. All Bass signs had been removed by 2015 - but the pub still sells Bass "from the jug". SP 2005; Google 2015 .

T Hoskins Ltd Leicester Leicester - Abbey, Beaumanor Road Tom Hoskins This was the former tap to the Hoskins Brewery. The brewery has closed, but the buildings survive. The brewery retains a painted board sign on the exterior: 'TOM HOSKINS BEAUMANOR BREWERY'. The pub retains modern etched windows: 'Hoskins ... Est: 1877'. SP photo 2006 Picture

Various Leicester - Aylestone, 16 Granby Road Off licence (former) On the gable wall are four old painted signs, all fading, including: "NEWARK HOLES ALES", "MITCHELLS & BUTLERS Good Honest Beer" and "FREE HOUSE WORTHINGTON BASS WHITBREAD MACKESON HOLES GUINNESS M&B". Ind Coope Ltd - Station Street, Burton-upon-Trent and Star Brewery, Romford Leicester - Belgrave, 185 Loughborough Road Champion Hotel (former) - renamed Flamingo Two stone panels - one on the front elevation parapet, one on the side elevation - both with: 'IND COOPE'S BURTON ALES'. On each corner on the quoins, decorative 'IC' logos. Steve Ellis reports in 2012: "Building has now been painted black; the stone panel on the front elevation has been plastered over so that the lettering is no longer visible; the 'IC' monogram on the left-hand pilaster has also been removed. James Shipstone & Sons Ltd Nottingham Leicester - Centre, 156 Belgrave Gate Bowlturners Arms (former) Three etched 'SHIPSTONE' windows on the front elevation: a pair to the left of the door, and a single window to the right. The right-hand one of the pair was replaced by a transfer with a more modern design. Late in 2010, there was a change of ownership, and all windows were replaced with clear glass. Building works in 2011 revealed a fine old fascia on the side elevation with lettering in relief: 'BASS & Co's ALES' and a raised triangle at each end, but this was later removed or obscured. James Shipstone & Sons Ltd Nottingham Leicester - Centre, Bedford Street / New Milton Street Eight Bells (former) The pub was demolished in 1969; but a rear outbuilding survives and on the back wall are the remains of a painted pub sign - cream with a black border. Sign mostly obliterated by a gate - uncertainty as to whether any lettering survives. 2008: no lettering survives. SP 2003; SP 2008 .

Mitchells & Butlers Ltd, Cape Hill, Smethwick; and Springfield, Wolverhampton Leicester - Centre, Belgrave Gate Bohemian (demolished) Built by M&B in the 1970s, this pub in 2006 had been empty for many years. On the corner splay is 'M&B' in chunky lettering - possibly originally illuminated - and 'Good Honest Beer' in applied script lettering beneath.
