Hampshire - Strong's Horsefair Brewery (former) - Strong & Co of Romsey Ltd, Horsefair Brewery, Romsey
Strong & Co of Romsey Ltd, Horsefair Brewery. Founded ca.1778. The brewery and 23 tied houses were leased to Thomas Strong in 1858, and he bought the business in 1883. Registered in November 1894. Acquired by Whitbread & Co Ltd in 1969 with 940 public houses. Brewing ceased in 1981. Partly demolished in the early 1990s, although some buildings survive, converted to other uses.
