Cumbria - Carlisle, Bridge Street: Carlisle Old Brewery
The Carlisle Old Brewery, formerly Sir Richard Hodgson & Co Ltd, was incorporated into the Carlisle State Management Scheme in 1916. The brewery and the 206 tied houses were sold to T & R Theakston Ltd of Masham in 1974; the brewery was closed in 1987 and is now used for student accommodation.
